April 26, 2008 – Tour de Georgia – Watch as the top bicyclists from around the world race to the finish atop Brasstown Bald, the highest peak in the state. A warm-up race for the Tour de France.

 May 24 – September 6, 2008 – Every Saturday Evening , free outdoor concerts on the Town Square in Hiawassee. Wide variety of music. Bring a chair or blanket for a good old-fashioned family evening in the park.

May 30 – June 1 and June 6 – 8, 2008 – “Over the River and Through the Woods” – Award-winning play presented by the Licklog Players at Peacock Playhouse, Hayesville, NC. www.licklogplayers.org.
